Challenges
The regulatory framework for chemicals, food contact materials, and cosmetics is becoming increasingly complex as authorities worldwide tighten safety standards and impose stricter restrictions on hazardous substances. Companies face significant challenges in aligning regulatory compliance with innovation while also considering the diverse and constantly evolving regulations in different regions.
The biggest challenges include:
- Increasing demands for comprehensive safety and toxicological data
- Diverse regulatory requirements in global markets complicate compliance
- Pressure to improve sustainability and reduce environmental impact
- Balancing product innovations with stringent safety and labelling regulations
Approach
Our approach to addressing regulatory challenges is based on many years of experience and solid industry know-how, enabling us to effectively navigate complex and constantly evolving regulations. Through structured and detailed analyses, we develop pragmatic, purpose-driven strategies that ensure compliance while promoting innovation and operational efficiency. These strategies are tailored to the specific needs of each client and industry.
- Structured analysis of regulatory requirements in relevant markets
- Assessment of products and substances regarding compliance
- Early detection of regulatory trends and proactive adaptation
- Efficient preparation of data and documentation for authorities
Methods
We follow recognised guidelines such as those from ECHA, EFSA, or SCCS and recommend validated testing methods, i.e., the technical guidelines of the OECD. For assessments based on in-silico data, the OECD QSAR Toolbox, VEGA, and TOXTREE are used. In certain cases, alternative methods and tailored approaches may be necessary to reconcile demanding chemical properties with regulatory compliance.
- Guidance based on regulatory recognised guidelines
- Recommendation of validated animal and non-animal testing methods
- Use of in-silico tools such as OECD QSAR Toolbox, VEGA, and Toxtree
- Development of tailored assessment approaches
